Is this mix (on Vodafone RO) suppose to work? I get a timeout during connection. Can it be configured somehow?

I have managed to connect by updating the kernel from 2.6.35-24 to 2.6.35-25. (I have enabled maverick-proposed updates) - (2 years, 3 months ago) amaguran

Hi amaguran, Yep the connection does timeout the first time after the device is enabled if you have a PIN set. NM doesn't wait long enough whilst the device is enabled, unlocked and trying to register before timing out the connect. I supplied a patch to Ubuntu for Network Manager people, but they have little interest in applying it as the normal Modem Manager doesn't unlock SIM in the way that the API defines. https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/network-manager/+bug/634991 However on the second or subsequent connect it should work, or if the PIN is disabled it should work fine.
