The winners of the Vodafone Mobile Clicks 2011 are:
1st place (€150,000 prize): FrogTek (Spain) is a simple and intuitive point-of-sale inventory management application with the potential to transform how shopkeepers in the developing world manage their businesses. The application uses basic Android smartphone and barcode reader functionality to enable retailers to access sophisticated stock control and analysis systems, in turn maximising profitability and helping support business growth.
Runner up (€50,000 prize): ParcelGenie (UK) is the world’s first ‘Instant Gift Messaging’ service that makes giving gifts such as chocolates, wine or novelty badges to friends and family as simple and spontaneous as sending a text message to the recipient. Gifts can be selected - and the recipient notified - in seconds, with physical delivery the next day. ParcelGenie is the only service of its kind globally and is based on a highly scalable technology platform.
Runner up (€25,000 prize): Wunderlist (Germany) is the first cross-platform task and list management application to support over-the-air synchronisation across multiple devices together with free and unlimited collaboration and data sharing between multiple users.

The competition now moves to its final phase to be held on 15-16 September 2011, taking place at PICNIC in the Netherlands.
Vodafone Mobile Clicks 2011
Vodafone Mobile Clicks is an international contest to identify and develop the best, most innovative mobile internet start-ups. Announced at The Next Web Conference in Amsterdam, the closing date for entries is midnight CET on 12th June, 2011.
Already known as the biggest start-up competition of its kind, this year’s Vodafone Mobile Clicks is open to seven markets. Any start-up in Germany, the Netherlands, Portugal, the Republic of Ireland, Spain, Turkey or the United Kingdom that has a mobile site, service or application can compete for the €225,000 prize fund.
Judging will take place over three rounds. Firstly, each competing market will draw up a shortlist of their five best submissions, then a local winner will be selected. Lastly, all seven local winners will be invited to represent their country in a live final at thein the Netherlands on 15th – 16th September 2011, where the overall winner will be chosen.
This year’sinclude Rudy de Waele, founder of Mobile 2.0 Europe and dotopen; Peter Barry, Head of VC and Start-up at Vodafone Ventures; Paul Jozefak, Neuhaus Partners; Reshma Sohoni, Partner at Seedcamp, and Lee Epting, Director of Content Services at Vodafone Group. Each judge will score entries based on five criteria:
- Originality, creativity and innovativeness
- Technical and operational feasibility
- Economic and financial viability
- Value to end-users
- The quality of the management team (e.g. their experience, knowledge, skills, relationships)
